Project Context

Scott’s project involved more than a standard roof replacement. His home featured an aging built-in EPDM gutter system that had become inefficient and difficult to maintain. With the roof already due for replacement, this created an opportunity to rethink the entire roofing and drainage approach. The goal was to modernize the system, improve water flow, and reduce long-term upkeep.

The Challenge

The key challenge was correcting an outdated drainage design while replacing the roof in Port Moody. Built-in gutter systems are prone to water retention and ongoing maintenance issues. Solving this required structural modifications to the roof edge, including rebuilding the fascia to support a new external drainage system. This added complexity beyond a typical roofing project.

How We Responded?

We began by removing the existing roofing materials and built-in gutter system to expose the underlying structure. Our team then modified and rebuilt the fascia to create a vertical surface for seamless exterior gutters.
