Project Context
Alana Sutton approached her project with a clear vision: she wanted more than a standard roof replacement. With multiple exterior components requiring attention, including aging roofing materials and fascia boards, she saw an opportunity to invest in a complete system that would enhance both durability and curb appeal.
Her goal was to ensure that every element—from structural layers to finishing details—worked together seamlessly, resulting in a polished and long-lasting outcome.
This project extended beyond a typical re-roof. It required careful coordination between roofing and exterior finishing elements to create a unified system.
Key complexities included managing the transition between the main roof and deck cover, addressing deteriorating fascia boards, and ensuring proper sealing at all connection points. Achieving consistency in both performance and appearance demanded a precise and detail-oriented approach.

We began by removing the existing roofing materials and reinforcing vulnerable areas with Malarkey Arctic Seal® ice and water barriers. A high-performance synthetic underlayment was installed to provide a durable foundation, followed by the application of Malarkey Vista® AR shingles and RidgeFlex® hip and ridge shingles for long-term protection.
Special attention was given to critical transition points. We installed precision flashings at the chimney and deck connection, reinforced all roof penetrations, and upgraded ventilation with new attic vents, B-vents, and goose neck vents.
In parallel, we replaced the existing fascia with new 2×8 comb face boards and applied two coats of paint, creating a clean, cohesive edge that complemented the new roofing system.
Throughout the project, we maintained strict site protection and cleanup standards to ensure a smooth and professional experience.
