Project Context
Robin’s existing roof was aging and presented an opportunity to strengthen the Vancouver home from the deck up, not just replace shingles. Vantage Roofing Ltd. removed the old asphalt roofing, inspected the structure, and installed 3/8-inch plywood over the entire deck to create a solid foundation. The new system included ice and water protection at eaves and valleys, synthetic underlayment, Malarkey Vista AR shingles, RidgeFlex hip and ridge shingles, and upgraded ventilation and flashing throughout.
Robin’s roof required structural reinforcement and modern detailing at key transition points rather than a simple overlay. The chimney, valleys, vents, and other penetrations needed updated flashing and sealing so the entire assembly could perform as a cohesive, weather-tight system.
