Project Context
James contacted Vantage Roofing Ltd after noticing active leaks coming from the flat roof area of his Surrey home. When we inspected the problem, we found the leak had been going on long enough that the plywood underneath had become soft and rotten. To make sure the repair lasted, the job needed more than a quick patch—it required structural and roofing work in the affected section.
The biggest challenge was timing. This project had to be completed during the fall season, when it can be difficult to get enough dry days in a row to safely complete flat-roof work, surface prep, and a torch-on installation without weather delays.
James chose Vantage Roofing Ltd because of our skill and reputation for doing roofing work properly. He wanted the job handled correctly the first time—especially with a flat roof, where poor repairs often lead to repeat leaks.
We planned the work carefully around the weather and completed the project on time and on budget. The scope of work included:
Replacing the rotten plywood
Repairing trusses as needed in the affected area
Removing and disposing of two courses of shingles
Removing two feet of vinyl siding on the dormer (to access the work area)
Thoroughly cleaning and priming the existing roof surface
Installing a 2-ply torch-on roofing system
Re-installing the vinyl siding
Installing two new courses of shingles
James now has a new, properly sealed flat roof system that protects his family home from leaks and water damage. The repaired area is structurally sound again, and the torch-on system provides dependable protection moving forward.
