Project Context
Scott’s front porch roof, covering approximately 500 square feet, had suffered years of damage due to poor ventilation and a disconnected bathroom fan that was venting warm air into the roof cavity. This led to condensation buildup, causing the plywood substrate to deteriorate. To fix the problem correctly, Scott needed a roofing company skilled in both roofing replacement and carpentry/construction.
The primary challenge was addressing not only the worn-out roofing materials but also the underlying structural and ventilation issues. Without proper ventilation and repairs, the roof would continue to suffer from condensation damage, especially during the cold winter months. Additionally, the project required careful carpentry to replace rotten decking and framing while restoring the home’s original look with matching siding and trim.

Scott trusted that our team could handle both the roofing and carpentry aspects of the job efficiently and professionally.
Our crew began by protecting the property with groundsheets before removing the old roofing materials, siding, gutters, and rotten decking. We inspected the framing for further rot and reconnected the bathroom exhaust fan using fully insulated rigid ducting.
We then rebuilt the roof structure with two layers of plywood, added a new bathroom exhaust fan, and installed high-performance roofing products including SOPRAFLY FLAM STICK ET and SOPRALENE FLAM 250. To restore the home’s curb appeal, we reinstalled vinyl siding, new board and batten siding around the window (painted to match), and reattached the gutters. Finally, we installed new vented soffits for proper airflow and long-term protection
The project was completed on time and on budget. Scott now has a strong, well-ventilated roof that not only meets code but is built to last for many years to come. The property’s exterior was restored to its original look, while the new materials and proper ventilation ensure peace of mind for the homeowner heading into the fall and winter seasons.
